Natural Foods Company Pill Experiment
Hypothesis: I believe the pill which the natural foods company claims to improve short term memory and sharpens mental alertness truly contains no side effects. That is because it is made from natural ingredients such as guarana, gota kola and fish oil as active agents. This experiment will prove that this new product is safe and effective. ignore " I' statement in a hypothesis
Natural Ingredients:
Guarana – a woody, climbing shrub Paullinia cupana, of the soapberry family, growing in parts of South America, having seeds that contain caffeine and are used in soft drinks
Fish Oil – Fatty oil obtained from the livers of various fish
Population: To check the level of safety we will use rats as the test subjects. Since we are not sure about the side effects it might have it will be dangerous to test on people. After passing the safety issue, we can test the pills on students.
Sample: Pick 100 rats randomly for safety test. Pick 100 students randomly for efficiency test. ??
Variables: Independent Variables – 50 students will not take the pill and study for the exam Dependent Variables – the other 50 students will take the pill and study for the exam
Controls and Experimental Groups:
Controls – the 10 students not taking the pill
Experimental – the 10 students that took the pill
Population: 100 students our of however many students in a school
Sample: 100 students that are chosen for the test
