Hypothesis: A pill that a natural food company produced improves short term memory and sharpens mental alertness with no side effects when taken. make a statement
write in short descriptive paragraphs
Population: 10 white mice for safety test. 1000 students from age 14-18

Sample:
5 randomly picked mice (for safety test).Total of 100 randomly picked students; male and female ratio of 1:1 (for efficiency test).

Independent variable:
The amount of pill the mice take (for safety test). The type of test the students take; in this experiment is a vocabulary test (for efficiency test).

Dependent variable: The condition of the mice that took the pill (for safety test). The score of the vocabulary test the students take (for efficiency test).

Control group: 5 mice that do not take the pill (for safety test). 50 students who do not take the pill (for efficiency test).

Experimental group: 5 mice that take the pill (safety test). 50 students who take the pill (efficiency test).

Natural Ingredients: Guarana, Gota Kola, Fish Oil

Experiment: In order to prove my hypothesis, the first step would be to prove that the pill is safe when taken. Therefore, I would randomly pick 5 mice from 10 mice, and compare the condition of 5 mice that took the pill, and 5 that did not. Assuming that the pill is safe, the next step would be experimenting on humans. I would randomly pick 100 students from 1000 students of age 14-18, and divide the group into two – 50 students who will take the pill, and 50 who will not. I would give them the exact same vocabulary list, and make them memorize the words for 30 minutes. Then, the students will take the vocabulary test, and I would analyze the score of the tests. If the students who took the pill generally score higher than the students who did not take the pill, my hypothesis would be proved to be true, thus, the pill would improve short term memory and sharpen mental alertness when taken.
