You are working for a scientific research group who has just been asked to conduct an objective experiment for small natural foods company. They have developed a pill, which claims to improve short-term memory and sharpens mental alertness with no side effects. The natural ingredients include guarana, gota kola and fish oil as active agents. The research should test the effectiveness of new all natural pills and scientifically prove that this new product is safe and effective. Your company hopes to target young High school and college students who have semester and final exams.

Describe the elements of your experiment in short descriptive paragraphs and identify which method research you will use.

Identify the following in your research

Hypothesis: After taking the pill, it is of the best interest if the student is able to improve his/her short-term memory skills and mental alertness.make a statement
Population: A total of 200 students per grade, 200 9th graders, 200 10th graders, 200 11th graders, 200 12th graders and 200 college freshman.
sample: Choose 20 students randomly from each grade, 10 boys and 10 girls.
independent and dependent variables
Independent: Exactly half the students, 5 boys and 5 girls from each grade will NOT take the enhancer pill, and study for 4 hours. Dependent: The other half will take the enhancer pill, and study for 4 hours.
control and experimental groups in experiment
Control: The students who do not take the pills are the control. Experimental: The students who do take the pills are the experimental.
population: 10% of the 1000 students are used in this experiment.
sample: the 100 students who are tested are the samples.
