I agree with Diane's opinion that animal experiments are unethical. Yes, they have feelings just like us, and they are not the lower class. All living things are equally created / evolved (well this is kind of biological + religious). However, the experiments may be benefical to the human society, but the benefits exist since there were tons of failure when the experiments were conducted. Also, i want to say something about Henry's point. We may know more on how to protect them my experimenting and having significant results, but not all experiments are successful. We only look at the good sides, so we regard this as beneficial, but we should also think of the sacrifices that brought the successful results. We cannot be 100% sure that a result would bring benefits to a certain species of animal, and a failure or unsuccessful result does reduce the number of animals involved in that experiment. (btw, i'm not trying to argue w/ you~ just stating my opinion :D )
